Beginning Tuesday, September 6th, CBC will launch its search to find the Maritimes Cultural Centre for 2011. Maritimers, it’s your chance to show off your Maritime pride by nominating the community most deserving of the title of Maritimes Cultureville 2011, a competition that celebrates CBC’s 75th Anniversary and Canada’s Culture Days.
Is it kitchen parties and great summer festivals? Is it a fantastic performance venue and strong municipal and community support for the arts sector? Is it the number of cafes on the main strip where people sit and talk? Maritimes Cultureville 2011 is a chance to raise the profile of your community, and the amazing art, music, theatre that’s produced in the region.
Your call or comment will put the community you nominate, be it your own or one you love to visit for its cultural life, on a map of cultural hotspots, and that map will grow over the next couple of weeks.
Go to cbc.ca/martimes/cultureville/ or call 1-855-420-4115 to nominate and tell us what you think best exemplifies the Martimes’ rich and diverse cultural heritage.
