Lunenburg Queens Business Excellence Awards 2011 – Call for Nominations
The organizing committee for the Lunenburg-Queens Business Excellence Awards is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2011 Awards are OPEN! There are six Award Categories:
Award Categories – 2011
**Businesses are permitted nominate themselves**
Small Business
Must operate with less than 16 full time employees
Must have been in operation for at least 2 years
Primary business operation must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Must have an established reputation for providing a superior level of customer service
Must provide a brief description of the business philosophy of purchasing locally
Provide examples of community support and involvement (employer or employees)
Awards or commendations received for business products or services
Large Business
Must operate with 16 or more full time employees
Must have been in operation for at least 2 years
Primary business operation must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Must have an established reputation for providing a superior level of customer service
Must provide a brief description of the business philosophy of purchasing locally
Provide examples of community support and involvement (employer or employees)
Awards or commendations received for business products or services
Entrepreneurial Achievement Award
Primary business operations must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Must have been in operation for a minimum of 2 years
Has shown a unique approach to market creation, entry or expansion
Has taken calculated risks
Is innovative
Positive impact on local economy
Awards or commendations received for business products or services
Export Achievement Award
Primary business operations must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Increase in export business during the past year (either domestic or foreign markets)
Number of new export markets developed or increase in existing export markets
Approach used to develop new markets or increasing existing markets
Provide information about the impact on the local economy
New Business Award
Business must be operating for less than 24 months
Primary business operations must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Employment created
Provide examples of how the business approach used is unique
Brief overview of the personal vision of the owner
Awards or commendations received for products or service
Hospitality Business Award
Primary business operations must be in Lunenburg Queens Region
Must have been in operation for at least 2 years
Business must have excellent customer service
Business must have had a positive impact on the local economy
Awards or commendations received for product, service or industry
Nominations
There are four easy ways to submit your nominations: online, email, fax or in person. For more information see Nominations Page.
Nominations must be received no later than 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 to be eligible.
Nominations will be reviewed by an independent selection committee and the recipients will be announced at the gala awards banquet, 6:00pm on October 18th at Best Western Bridgewater Hotel & Convention Centre.
